Daily D – Psalm 113:3

From the rising of the sun to its setting, let the name of the LORD be praised.
PSALM 113:3 (CSB)

—————————————————————————

Sunrise and sunset are closer together now. The sun dipped below the horizon last night at 7:21. As one who enjoys days filled with more sunlight than darkness, this made me a little sad. It is dark now a few minutes after six o’clock in the morning.

We can fill this day with praise to God and overflow into dusk and dark. If we begin with his attributes, his distinguishing characteristics, and finish with how we experience his goodness and grace, no amount of daylight will be enough.

When the sun goes down and the moon and stars illuminate the heavens above, we can sing songs in the night. Psalm 42:8 says,

The LORD will send his faithful love by day;
his song will be with me in the night—
a prayer to the God of my life.

Praise God all day. Pray yourself to sleep at night. That’s a pretty good day, don’t you think?

Start well with praise and thanksgiving. Ponder God’s goodness throughout the moments, the minutes, and the hours before you. Wrap it all up with thanksgiving and praise as you lie down and lay down your concerns and cares at bedtime.

How will you experience God today? Take notes along the way. Then you will always have something to say as you remember God’s goodness in this day.

—————————————————————————

I will live this day with praise and thanksgiving from sunup to sundown to peaceful slumber.

—————————————————————————

Our Father, open my eyes that I may see your goodness and grace today. I choose to live in awe and wonder, expressing your praise, thanking you for every good and perfect gift. Amen.

Daily D – Isaiah 55:8-9
