Psalm 23:6  Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord as long as I live. (CSB)

Certainly goodness and faithfulness will follow me all the days of my life, And my dwelling will be in the house of the Lord forever.
(New American Standard 2020)‬
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
(New International Version)
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
(New Living Translation)
Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of God for the rest of my life.
(The Message)

This most-beloved psalm tells us that God goes before us, walks alongside us, and follows us everywhere all the time. We live surrounded not by a hedge of protection but by God.

Notice the synonyms used in different translations of verse 6 to amplify the word “follow.” “Pursue” and “chase” should serve to remind us that we cannot outrun God. They should also remind us that no matter where we run, he runs too. They should bring to mind what God said to Abraham in Genesis 15:1: “Walk before me, and live blamelessly,” (New American Standard 2020).

Our Father in heaven pursues you to amplify your life. He wants to maximize your good work. He wants to optimize your exploits.

What would that look like for you today? Give that some thought. Seek God’s direction. Then confidently exit your door and step into God’s goodness today.

I will walk before God in maximum expression of who he created me to be.

Our Father, please go before me to prepare the way. Walk beside me all along the way. Follow me as I walk in your way. Pursue me when I divert from your way. Chase me when I run away. Remind me as often as necessary that not only is yours the only truly good way, you are the way. Amen.

Isaiah 26:3, 4
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,

Daily D – Psalm 113

Psalm 113
Hallelujah!
Give praise, servants of the LORD;
praise the name of the LORD.
Let the name of the LORD be blessed
both now and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
let the name of the LORD be praised.

The LORD is exalted above all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
Who is like the LORD our God —
the one enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the trash heap
in order to seat them with nobles —
with the nobles of his people.
He gives the childless woman a household,
making her the joyful mother of children.
Hallelujah!

Daily D – Psalm 112:4-9

Psalm 112:4-9
Light shines in the darkness for the upright.
He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous.
Good will come to the one who lends generously
and conducts his business fairly.
He will never be shaken.
The righteous one will be remembered forever.
He will not fear bad news;
his heart is confident, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is assured; he will not fear.
In the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
He distributes freely to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.
His horn will be exalted in honor.
