“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.” JOHN 16:12 (NLT)

I am teaching an online class during this Spring semester which begins today.  A high school student taking the course for dual credit has been emailing for days trying to get a good start. This is commendable. Having never done anything like this, he is not sure what is next. He is looking for the starting point and an outline of how this course works.

Learning new things is enjoyable. It is something I try to do every day. However, there are times when my mind is so full that I cannot cram in one more fact or idea. There are times when fatigue settles in and stops forward progress.

Go back to John 11 and read straight through to this point. The disciples had to be overwhelmed with all they had seen and heard. Jesus knew they were at the saturation point. Some of what he was telling them would not fully compute for them until after the resurrection and ascension.

Jesus promised that the coming Holy Spirit would guide them into all truth (verse 13). Learning, growth, and development were ongoing. These men were not finished learning. There was much more to come. Now they had the outline. Next would come the details to fill in the empty spaces.

You and I do not know it all. There is still more for us to learn in our walk with God. Today is a good day to say so. It is a good day to confess to our Father in heaven that there is much we do not understand. Tell him also that you are ready, willing, and eager to learn.

Let’s see where that takes us.

I will ask our Father in heaven for more knowledge, wisdom, insight, and understanding.

Our Father, speak to my heart. Teach me. There is so much I want to know and so much more you want to teach me. I am ready, willing, and eager to learn. Increase me in knowledge, wisdom, insight, and understanding so that I may lead myself and others better. Grow my heart as you grow my mind. Amen.

Daily D – Isaiah 37:16

Isaiah 37:16 ”Lord of Armies, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you are God — you alone — of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.“

Daily D – Isaiah 32:17

Isaiah 32:17
The result of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever.

Daily D – Isaiah 26:3-4

Isaiah 26:3, 4
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
because in the LORD, the LORD himself, is an everlasting rock!

Daily D – Psalm 113

Psalm 113
Hallelujah!
Give praise, servants of the LORD;
praise the name of the LORD.
Let the name of the LORD be blessed
both now and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
let the name of the LORD be praised.

The LORD is exalted above all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
Who is like the LORD our God —
the one enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the trash heap
in order to seat them with nobles —
with the nobles of his people.
He gives the childless woman a household,
making her the joyful mother of children.
Hallelujah!

Daily D – Psalm 112:4-9

Psalm 112:4-9
Light shines in the darkness for the upright.
He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous.
Good will come to the one who lends generously
and conducts his business fairly.
He will never be shaken.
The righteous one will be remembered forever.
He will not fear bad news;
his heart is confident, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is assured; he will not fear.
In the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
He distributes freely to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.
His horn will be exalted in honor.
