Pray for the well-being of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure; may there be peace within your walls, security within your fortresses.”
PSALM 122:6-7 (CSB)

Politicians are going to politick. Malevolent nations are going to interfere. Entrenched foes are going to destroy and retaliate. Innocent people will suffer and die.

Talking heads on news broadcasts will blame this one and that one. They will note how these problems have continued for thousands of years.

Boys and girls, men and women, are dying. Rockets and rocks and rifles are deployed making bad situations worse.

Everyone loses.

Only God is wise enough and powerful enough to bring peace and healing to Israelis and Palestinians, to Iranians and Arabs, to Shiites and Sunnis, to Jews and Christians.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

I will pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Our Father, please bring a halt to the fighting. Please stop the bloodshed. Please provide healing and hope. Please bring peace to Jerusalem. Amen.

I am the Lord your God,

and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.“

I have called you by your name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you,
and the rivers will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be scorched,
and the flame will not burn you.“

do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.”
