Apply yourself to discipline and listen to words of knowledge.
PROVERBS 23:12 (CSB)

_____________________________________________________________________________

Give yourselves to disciplined instruction; open your ears to tested knowledge.(MSG)

Intelligence is a choice. Ignorance is always an alternative. We are about as smart as we choose to be.

There is no reason to live a life of unknowing today. Learning has never been easier. Books and other reading materials are more readily available than at any time in human history. Podcasts on any and every subject are there to fill gaps of knowledge and to update understanding. YouTube provides instruction for everything from handyman projects to TED Talks.

Consider two kinds of mind-broadening pursuits. Learn more about your field of endeavor. Keep up with the latest trends. Review the foundations. Enhance your expertise. Disciplined attention to detail makes you more productive and effective. This quite often leads to more money deposited in your bank account.

Learn more about your hobby. What would make you better at your game of choice? What would enrich your disciplined pursuit of restorative recreation? What would so enliven your time away from work that it made your time at work more purposeful and productive?

Lifelong learners live broader, deeper lives.

If you really want to maximize your intelligence, take a friend or loved one along on the ride. Do it together. Learn from one another. Encourage one another. Celebrate one another.

Full minds and healthy lifestyles of growth and development honor God and serve others. How will you give God a reason to smile today?

I will pursue enhanced intelligence through disciplined learning.

Our Father, I have so much to learn. Give me a growth plan that honors you and serves others. Amen.

Daily D – Isaiah 37:16

Isaiah 37:16 ”Lord of Armies, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you are God — you alone — of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.“

Daily D – Isaiah 32:17

Isaiah 32:17
The result of righteousness will be peace;
the effect of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever.

Daily D – Isaiah 26:3-4

Isaiah 26:3, 4
You will keep the mind that is dependent on you
in perfect peace,
for it is trusting in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
because in the LORD, the LORD himself, is an everlasting rock!

Daily D – Psalm 113

Psalm 113
Hallelujah!
Give praise, servants of the LORD;
praise the name of the LORD.
Let the name of the LORD be blessed
both now and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
let the name of the LORD be praised.

The LORD is exalted above all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
Who is like the LORD our God —
the one enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the trash heap
in order to seat them with nobles —
with the nobles of his people.
He gives the childless woman a household,
making her the joyful mother of children.
Hallelujah!

Daily D – Psalm 112:4-9

Psalm 112:4-9
Light shines in the darkness for the upright.
He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous.
Good will come to the one who lends generously
and conducts his business fairly.
He will never be shaken.
The righteous one will be remembered forever.
He will not fear bad news;
his heart is confident, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is assured; he will not fear.
In the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
He distributes freely to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.
His horn will be exalted in honor.
