Matthew 20:32-34  Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him. (NIV)

When we see Jesus for who he really is, when we experience his life-giving touch, we joyfully follow wherever he leads.

On this occasion, his way led to Jerusalem, to the Triumphal Entry, to the cleansing of the temple, to the cursing of the fig tree, to the miracles and praises and teaching in the temple, to the anger of the authorities, to the washing of his disciples’ feet, to the last supper, to the Garden of Gethsemane, to the trials, to the crucifixion, and to the grave.

It also led to the empty tomb, the road to Emmaus, to the upper room, to the Sea of Galilee, to the Mount of Olives, and to a promise that he will return just as those there that day saw him leave.

  • What’s your best next step with Jesus?
  • Where do his story and yours intersect?
  • Where will you be on that day of days?

Follow Jesus wherever he leads. You will never be bored. You will never see anything the same way again. You will begin to see with new perspective, new expectations, and new opportunities to bring a little more heaven on earth.

What do you see?

I will ask God to give me sight to see what he sees.

Our Father, give me eyes to see what you see. Give me ears to hear what you say. Give me feet to go where you want me to go. Give me hands to serve those who need your touch. Give me thoughts worth thinking and words worth hearing. Show me the way I should go. Amen.
