Judges 13:17, 18  Then Manoah asked the angel of the Lord, “What is your name? For when all this comes true, we want to honor you.” “Why do you ask my name?” the angel of the Lord replied. “It is too wonderful for you to understand.” (NLT)

Now and again, a conversation takes on depth and meaning only time and reflection most clearly reveal. Such was the case when a man named Manoah asked the Angel of the LORD, “What is your name?”

“Why do you ask my name?” the angel of the Lord replied.
“It is too wonderful for you to understand.”

A song from our younger days echoes in my mind when I read these words. Sandi Patty and Larnelle Harris singing More than Wonderful lead us into worship. (You can check it out here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRTwUvZG5a0]

May your casual conversations today be filled with joy.
May they take on greater meaning as time goes by.
May they lead you into wonder.
May you ponder how you ever missed the precious presence of Jesus.

I will listen more attentively for the voice of Jesus.

Our Father, give me ears to hear what you are saying to me in every conversation. Amen.

Isaiah 48:17, 18

”This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:
I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you for your benefit,
who leads you in the way you should go.
If only you had paid attention to my commands.
Then your peace would have been like a river,
and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.“

Daily D – Isaiah 43:1-2

Isaiah 43:1, 2

”Now this is what the Lord says —
the one who created you, Jacob,
and the one who formed you, Israel  —
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you,
and the rivers will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be scorched,
and the flame will not burn you.“

Daily D – Isaiah 41:9-10

Isaiah 41:9, 10

do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.”
