So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God. ROMANS 5:11 (NLT)

_____________________________________________________________________________

Few indeed are the friends and loved ones we can tell anything and know they will still love us and never give up on us. Our Father in heaven is that friend above all friends. He already knows the worst about us and loves us anyway. He desires to take us as we are and lead us where we can only arrive by his grace. He never gives up on us until we at last endure to the end and give up on him.

This chapter tells us how our Father in heaven sent his son to pay the penalty for our sins so that we might experience reconciliation. Our Father in heaven wants a “wonderful new relationship” with us. He wants to be our friend. He wants to be your friend.

Are you a friend of God?

He offers his grace to wash your sins away, to give you a place to stand (vv. 1, 2), to give you a brand new life which endures forever, to give you peace. The Creator of all the good things we know and enjoy wants has sent his friend request. Have you accepted it?

I will live as a friend of God.

Our Father, thank you for taking the initiative and doing everything necessary to bring me into relationship with you. Thank you for your grace which makes me new. Thank you for your grace that teaches me how to live. Thank you for your grace that removes the fear of death. Thank you for choosing me as your child and your friend. Amen.

Daily D – 1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”

Daily D – 2 Thessalonians 1:3

2 Thessalonians 1:3 “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

Daily D – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

1 Thessalonians 1:2, 3 “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Daily D – Colossians 2:8-10

Colossians 2:8-10 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Daily D – Philippians 2:2-5

Philippians 2:2-5 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
