May God be gracious to us and bless us; may he make his face shine upon us so that your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.
PSALM 67:1-2 (CSB)

Numbers 6:24-26 is the blessing the priests were to speak over Israel:

May the LORD bless you and protect you;
may the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;
may the LORD look with favor on you
and give you peace.

These texts are two of a kind. They pronounce and invoke God’s blessing.

Our Father in heaven leads with love. His every thought and action is motivated and animated by his faithful and enduring love (Psalm 136). God is love (1 John 4:8).

What is his disposition toward you on Monday mornings when you played too hard and stayed up too late on Sunday?

* Grace
* Blessing
* Favor
* Salvation

God smiles on you. His plans for you are for your well-being, for a special future, and for an enduring hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

You can live courageously and confidently as you walk with God into a new day and a new week.

You can live with assurance that you are so deeply loved that no sin could separate you from God’s grace and forgiveness when you humbly return to him.

You can know for certain that he smiles when you lead with love as he leads with love.

You can know the success of an entirely different order and magnitude when you walk before God in faith and with faithful service to everyone you meet.

What do you want more of or less of that honors God and serves others?

What’s stopping you?

What is your best next step of faithful living today?

_____________________________________________________________________________

I will live the confident assurance of God’s grace, blessing, and smile.

Our Father, thank you that you do not withhold your love and approval until we finally get things right. Instead, you give us your love and approval up front and empower us to live lives you can smile upon. We turn to you today to align and attune our hearts and minds so that we can indeed not only live lives you can smile upon but also to live lives that bring smiles to others. Amen.

Daily D – 1 Timothy 2:1-4

1 Timothy 2:1-4 “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”

Daily D – 2 Thessalonians 1:3

2 Thessalonians 1:3 “Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.”

Daily D – 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

1 Thessalonians 1:2, 3 “We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Daily D – Colossians 2:8-10

Colossians 2:8-10 “Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Daily D – Philippians 2:2-5

Philippians 2:2-5 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
