Jeremiah 17:7, 8
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (NIV)

But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers— Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season. (MSG)

The life God blesses is the person with confident trust in him no matter the circumstances.

Self-confidence is good and helpful. It grows through knowledge and practice. It provides a base to build on for achieving increasing measures of success.

God-confidence develops similarly. Trust God in what you know about him, his will, and his ways. Developing this habitual mindset builds the kind of life of assurance the worst drought cannot dry out and the worst flood cannot drown.

God-confidence is built a moment at a time, day after day, over the course of a lifetime.

God-confident people live largely untroubled by fear and worry. They are able to wait for God’s timing without distress or concern. They know from abundant personal experience how God provides wherever he guides.

Today is a good day to build God-confidence. Memorize and meditate on Proverbs 3:5, 6. Read these verses in the New Living Translation. The Message says it this way:

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for GOD’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.

What necessitates God-confidence in the day before you? Turn these verses into prayers as often as necessary. Feel your strength grow with every repetition.

I will exercise God-confidence and grow stronger, deeper, and healthier.

Our Father, when I am afraid, when I am ill-equipped, when I am at my wit’s end, I will trust in you. You are my bottom line. You are my rock bottom. You are my all in all. You see what I cannot perceive. You understand what confuses me. You are more ready to help me than I am to trust you. Give me your clear direction in every moment. Place your thoughts in my mind and your words in my mouth. Keep me on the right track headed toward the right destination at the right speed. Amen.

Daily D – Psalm 49:20

Psalm 49:20
Mankind, with his assets
but without understanding,
is like the animals that perish.

Daily D – Psalm 46:10

Psalm 46:10
“Stop fighting, and know that I am God,
exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”

Daily D – Ezra 3:11-13

Ezra 3:11-13 They sang with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord: “For he is good; his faithful love to Israel endures forever.” Then all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord because the foundation of the Lord’s house had been laid. But many of the older priests, Levites, and family heads, who had seen the first temple, wept loudly when they saw the foundation of this temple, but many others shouted joyfully. The people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shouting from that of the weeping, because the people were shouting so loudly. And the sound was heard far away.

Daily D – Ezekiel 43:1-5

Ezekiel 43:1-5 He led me to the gate, the one that faces east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice sounded like the roar of a huge torrent, and the earth shone with his glory. The vision I saw was like the one I had seen when he came to destroy the city, and like the ones I had seen by the Chebar Canal. I fell facedown. The glory of the Lord entered the temple by way of the gate that faced east. Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the inner court, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

Daily D – Ezekiel 37:3

Ezekiel 37:3 Then he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I replied, “Lord God, only you know.”
