Psalm 100:3
Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us, and we are his—
his people, the sheep of his pasture. (CSB)

Know this: God is God, and God, God.
He made us; we didn’t make him.
We’re his people, his well-tended sheep. (MSG)

Simple truth is most profound. Among the simple declarations of great truth is this simple verse.

God is God, and we are not.

God made us; we did not make him.

We belong to God, and that’s the best news ever.

He is better to us than we would be to ourselves.

The highest and best thinking we will do today is to acknowledge God for who he is and to see ourselves in the light of this ultimate truth.

When we see God for who he is, we see everything else from a proper perspective.

What lenses are you using to look at life today?

I will see God for who he is and everything else from this proper perspective.

Our Father, you are God, and I am not. You are in charge here, and I am not. You provide all I need, and I do not. You are better to me than I would be to myself. In these simple truths lies my security and my delight. Amen.

Daily D – Micah 4:5

Micah 4:5 Though all the peoples walk in the name of their own gods, we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.

Daily D – Jonah 4:1-3

Jonah 4:1-3 Jonah was greatly displeased and became furious. He prayed to the Lord, “Please, Lord, isn’t this what I said while I was still in my own country? That’s why I fled toward Tarshish in the first place. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and one who relents from sending disaster. And now, Lord, take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live.”

Daily D – Psalm 128:1-4

Psalm 128:1-4

How happy is everyone who fears the LORD,
who walks in his ways!
You will surely eat
what your hands have worked for.
You will be happy,
and it will go well for you.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house,
your children, like young olive trees
around your table.
In this very way
the man who fears the LORD
will be blessed.

Daily D – Psalm 127:2

Psalm 127:2
In vain you get up early and stay up late,
working hard to have enough food —
yes, he gives sleep to the one he loves.

Daily D – Philippians 4:5

Philippians 4:5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
